The Manatee County Utilities Customer Service section supports 140,000+ accounts for citizens and business owners.
The Customer Service team is the first point of contact for the Utilities division where more than 135,000 inbound calls are received each year, 50,000 emails are completed, 50,000 payments processed, 30,000 outbound collection calls, and 6,000 New Construction permits are managed for our growing county.
The Customer Service team supports residential and commercial accounts for water, sewer, and garbage services in support of 1,647,000+ billing statements annually.
As a Utilities Customer Service Call Center Representative I, you will be a part of a very busy inbound call center.
Our goal is to provide exemplary customer service to support Billing (for water, sewer, and garbage), Cashiering, Collections and New Construction.
You will learn procedures and platforms we use to communicate with our customers.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent certificate of competency.
Minimum of two (2) years clerical customer service-oriented experience.
Minimum of one (1) year financial or cashiering experience.
Achievement of all skill level requirements in assigned AREA of the SECTION within one year of hire (training provided).
Valid driver license required, or a valid Florida driver license required within 30 days of hire.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Desired Skills:
Prior experience in a customer service call/support center environment highly desired.
Data entry experience highly desired.
Ability to research and analyze activity on customer accounts.
