We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Transit Driver/Warehouse Assistant.
*Job Title*: Transit Driver / Warehouse Assistant *Classification*: Non-Exempt *Hours*: Full-time *Compensation*: $18.
00 per hour *Benefits:* Health Insurance with substantial employer contribution Dental and Vision Insurance 3 weeks Paid Time Off 13 Paid Holidays Sick Time 401(k) plan with up to a 5% match after one year of employment *Job Reports To*: Transportation Manager *Next Level*: Vice President of Strategic Food Bank & Transportation Operations _*Job Summary*__:_ The Transit Driver/Warehouse assistant is responsible for assisting with all transportation and warehouse needs.
This includes transporting clients to and from the Friendship Dining Centers, Daybreak, and any special trips needed.
Responsible for assembly of all meal carts for home deliveries/pick-up, preparation of hot meals and their delivery to Dining Centers.
May be needed to assist in pickup of donated food items and meal delivery as well as assisting with all other Transportation responsibilities.
_*Major Responsibilities:*_ 1.
Responsible for the day-to-day transportation of clients to and from the program centers 2.
Follow and ensure compliance with all safety and emergency procedures as outlined in the MOWP Policy and Procedure Manual and the Driver Handbook 3.
Maintain and update daily transportation records for each client and submit report to supervisor daily, as per established guidelines 4.
Perform daily Pre/Post trip monitoring on the vehicles being used and provide documentation to the Transportation Manager 5.
Responsible for reporting immediately to the supervisor any injuries or accidents as well as any needed vehicle repair 6.
Maintain, clean, and disinfect vehicles interior and exterior as needed 7.
Assist with cart and produce packing for Home Delivered Meals 8.
Deliver frozen and hot meals to designated sites as assigned 9.
Assist in the loading and unloading totes, boxes, etc.
into volunteer vehicles as needed 10.
Assist with cleaning and sanitizing returned milk totes, warehouse, and food preparation areas 11.
Participate in MOWP fundraising activities as needed 12.
Attend all required training 13.
Other tasks and duties as assigned _*Minimum Requirements*_ 1.
High School Graduate or equivalent 2.
Valid Driver’s License 3.
Must have good driving record 4.
2 years of experience in driving, client transport preferred 5.
Ability to read and follow maps/directions and reroute vehicle as needed 6.
Willing to be _Safe-Serve (food prep) _certified upon hire _*Skills, Tools, and Technology Requirements:*_ 1.
Must be able to stand/walk for moderate periods of time 2.
May be exposed to high/low temperatures and rain 3.
Must have special interest in programs designed to assist older Americans 4.
Must have great organizational skills along with excellent planning and attention to detail 5.
Must work well with others and coordinate several activities simultaneously 6.
Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner 7.
Must have good oral and written communication skills and follow directions well 8.
Must be able to bend, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25lbs.
