Yard Spotter - B Shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews shipping schedule to determine need for movement of empty and full trailers.
Operates truck tractor to move filled trailers to yard parking area and bring empty trailers to appropriate docking space.
Ensures that safety chocks are in place during loading process, are removed for return to parking area and then replaced while trailer is parked.
Places and removes dock boards as required.
Handles over-the-road truck driving duties in the event of absence of regular tractor trailer driver.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE At least 2 years experience as truck driver Knowledge of PGT shipping routes LANGUAGE / COMMUNICATION SKILLS Basic English language skills MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic math skills REASONING ABILITY No special reasoning ability required CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Class A Commercial Drivers License DOT medical card PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to control tractor Must be able to hitch full or empty trailers Work in unclimatized tractor, exposed to heat and rain TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Ability to travel occasionally domestically.
