Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center (PSBHC) is an award-winning residential facility that focuses on improving the well-being of adolescents while treating their emotional and mental health needs.
Palm Shores is an intensive inpatient psychiatric program for males and females, ages 11 – 17 years old.
We offer a highly structured supportive and safe environment for children and adolescents who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, family, and social challenges.

We are currently hiring for Per Diem RNs to cover various shifts and work one holiday per year.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center.
The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process which is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care.
The Registered Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.
The Registered Nurse is authorized to initiate restraints or seclusion and assess continuation.
The Registered Nurse also assumes Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.
Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management, restraint and seclusion procedures and criteria and CPR training.

Credentials: Licensure by the Florida Board of Registered Nursing required.
Experience: Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
Physical Requirements: Physical agility to manage patients with crisis prevention interventions.
Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
Additional Requirements: Must be able to read, understand, and follow: policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test.
Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of Handle with Care prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 7 days of employment.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Physical agility to manage patients.
Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
Must be able to interact positively with patients on a daily basis whose behavior may be challenging, uncooperative or aggressive.
Must be able to perform concentrated and/or complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex and/or highly technical situations; Must be able to work successfully under highly stressful conditions; Must be able to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific and/or ethical principles; Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures; Must be able to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion; Must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis; Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.
