A Territory Account Manager is responsible for sales, sales support and product delivery to achieve product offering and company goals of Sunshine State Distributing products throughout the assigned territory.
The Territory Account Manager’s main focus will be developing new business, growing revenue, and distribution of Sunshine State Distributing products in high volume accounts and maintaining service in low volume accounts.
*Sales, Service & Merchandising* * Develop new business in On and Off Premise accounts, maintain effective customer relations, and promote a positive image of the company and its supplier partners.
* Identify accounts that are not currently customers and develop a plan to establish business with such accounts.
* Successfully sell, distribute and place all Sunshine State Distributing products.
* Focus on selling SSD products and/or upgrading number of SSD product lines in accounts.
* Execute sales goals as related to business activities as provided by the Director of Sales.
* Ensure that retail execution of all programs is carried out in a professional and timely manner in designated accounts.
* Maintain a regular schedule of weekly appointments with accounts in assigned territory.
* Sell sufficient product inventory to eliminate out-of-stock situations in assigned territory.
* Ensure that all products are properly merchandised, rotated, and within SSD date code policy.
* Create, develop, and maintain professional working relationship in every account.
* Follow-up on all business commitments to SSD customers.
* Address customer inquiries regarding customer service, payment/credit, delivery, product information, and other inquiries as they arise.
* Service all customer requests in a timely manner.
* Attend all scheduled sales meetings.
* Utilize Point-Of-Sale materials to stimulate sales (neons, tin tackers, posters, table tents, etc…) * Conduct product tastings and/or dinners and other promotions in accounts on an occasional basis or when required.
* Assist in working, setting up and tearing down special events and festivals.
*Administrative* * Maintain an updated and accurate account call system set by the Director of Sales for actual account calls.
* Maintain accurate records and process all orders, reports, and forms as required.
* Complete all necessary account recap and preplan information as required.
* Complete all necessary market surveys as requested by management.
* Promptly respond to all company communication.
* Understand all sales reporting documents.
*Additional Duties* * Maintain up-to-date awareness of company activities and industry trends.
* Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
(Business casual: SSD branded shirt, supplier branded shirt, jeans are acceptable as long as they are not ripped or torn, close toed shoes.
) * Maintain current, clean and in good working condition all selling tools including tap handles, samples, printed POS, product-tasting tools, coolers, jockey boxes, etc.
* Drive your vehicle safely, courteously, and obey all traffic regulations.
* Adhere to all Company policies and procedures and all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.
* Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of Sunshine State Distributing supplier partners and products/brands.
* Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
*Skills and Abilities* * Ability to work independently.
* Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates including evenings and weekends.
* Ability to operate and use all hardware and software necessary to fill orders.
* Ability to handle product generally weighing up to 165 pounds.
* Ability to bend and stoop.
* Ability to read maps/directions and operate GPS units.
* Ability to read and write English.
* Ability to effectively operate Microsoft Office productivity software.
*Qualifications* * The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of prior sales experience, customer service experience, and/or pertinent industry certifications.
* Previous beer/wine/liquor wholesaler or supplier sales and marketing experience preferred.
* Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills * Ability to utilize company provided hardware and software.
* Must have reliable transportation.
* Must have the ability to obtain a Wine and Spirits Sales License.
* Must have or obtain a valid Florida driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance.
