As a Project Manager overseeing Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) across Sarasota County, your responsibilities will include management of staff assignments, as well as related budgeting, and expense monitoring for the nearly $60M in projects that Public Works has for the current 5-year term.
Every day you will offer support and assistance on Transportation/Storm water CIP construction projects.
Projects may also involve other areas such as site work, utilities, and storm water, as well as some assistance in the design phase of projects.

Manage capital and operational construction projects within the Transportation/Storm water Construction group.
Responsible through the Construction Manager for the oversight of construction contracts and projects as assigned by the County's administrative agent and capital projects management team.
Respond as County representative throughout construction process regarding issues and is responsible for implementing County direction through contractual procedures.
Manage construction and design contracts to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations by engineers, architects, construction contractors, and consultants.
With minimal assistance from the Construction Manager, participate in teams consisting of internal stakeholders, engineers, inspectors, operational groups, and provides input to project team to resolve disputes.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with inter-departmental agencies.
Confer and coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and other parties to ensure County design/construction standards are adhered to.
Assist in providing on-site resolution of construction or design problems and coordinates with other agencies for permitting and project certifications as needed.
Assist the design Project Managers and works with Procurement to prepare solicitation for Professional Services, reviews proposals.
Participate and/or leads in the Professional Solicitation Review Committee (PSRC) as needed to select professional consultants.
Help to negotiate contract scope, budget, and schedule with selected consultant.
Ensure contracts include all necessary work scope to complete project.
Prepare project related correspondence.
Coordinate construction notice-to-proceed with stakeholders, contractor, and consultants.
Review construction proposals and approved contracts and coordinates consultant recommendations.
Hours- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

BS degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field
Project experience can substitute for education on a year for year basis depending on the type of experience.
Valid Florida driver’s license
Starting Pay Range: $51,542.
40- $69,284.
80, based on your experience.
Position Salary Range(future earning potential): $51,542.
40-$87,027.

BS degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field and a minimum of 3 years related CIP experience.
Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of required experience.
Project experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.

Starting Pay Range: $57,137.
60- $77,646.
40, based on your experience.
Position Salary Range (future earning potential): $57,137.
