Summary: Manage and direct all manufacturing activities in the plant, including production, shipping/receiving, quality control, maintenance/engineering, and safety, to produce products in the most cost-effective way, while meeting OTIF shipping to our customers.
What You'll Do:
Operations Management
Manage a significant operational area for the organization.
Leadership and Direction
Provides supervision, guidance, and leadership to all direct reports to help effectively plan work, direct team activities, and establish priorities; Direct and coordinate all functions within the daily operations of the manufacturing plant; Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to staff; Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Production Planning
Increasing production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs; Monitor progress and prepare reports for senior managers and executives.
Manufacturing Methods/Processes Development
Identify shortcomings in existing manufacturing processes, systems, and procedures; Collaborate with appropriate resources and groups to develop and implement solutions.
Budgeting
Create and manage plant budget to assure compliance to plan; Works with Director or VP of Operations to gather information and provide insight for strategic planning.
Performance Management
Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance; Work with your teams to assure all KPIs are met (S,P,Q,C,D)
Organizational Capability Building
Develop leaders through training, coaching, mentoring, and accountability in order to meet/exceed job expectations; Interview, hire, and evaluate direct reports to support Succession Planning;
Internal Communications
Communicate actions needed to implement the company’s strategy and business plan with your team; Communicate regularly with executives regarding problems or issues impacting production.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate cross-functionally to support New Product Development and drive Design for Manufacturability.
Who You Are:
Education and Experience
University (First Degree)
Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level.
(Over 6 years to 10 years)
Managerial Experience
Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.
