The Tool and Die Technician is accountable for the safe, efficient machining, assembly, and repair of high quality tooling, fixtures, and fabrication equipment for the Bradenton Ceilings Plant.
*Shift: 1st*
*Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM*
*Essential Functions:*
* Follows all safety policies, procedures and programs; is responsible for individual safety and the safety of others
* Assist design team in verifying the accuracy of tooling dimensions and drawings
* Recommend changes and modifications to improve quality and reduce cost
* Determine process to be used in the machining of tooling
* Operate, maintain, and calibrate equipment in a safe manner
* Fabricate prototype tooling for production trials
* Produce tooling efficiently according to design specifications and functional requirements
* Assemble completed tooling and ensure functionality matches design
* Inspect and test tooling to ensure customer satisfaction
* Repair damaged tooling
* Troubleshoot tooling problems with other departments and plants
* Collaborate with cross functional groups to design and build machinery to meet customer specifications
* Create jigs, fixtures, and other items used to produce tooling
* Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace
* Perform other related duties as assigned
*Qualifications:*
* High School Diploma/GED
* 5+ years of industry experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.
* Must be familiar with standard equipment: lathe, mill, grinders, welders, etc.
* Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
* Thorough understanding of metallic properties.
* Ability to work independently, with engineers and production operations.
* Proficient with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Successful completion of an apprentice program with a licensed professional or established company
