The Equipment Operator reports to the Assistant Course Superintendent and/or 2nd Assistant Superintendent.
Performs routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance, does semi-skilled grounds construction, and maintenance work while operating small hand-powered equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: · Proper operation of walk mowers for tees greens and collars/approaches on the golf course.
· Replacement of turf grass.
· Weed eats, Flymo’s and edges following all guidelines of the course detail book.
· Hand labor such as digging and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
will be required.
· Sand pro and maintenance of all waste areas.
· Maintain neat and orderly maintenance facility.
· Reports any problems or suggestions to Assistant or 2nd Assistant Superintendent.
· Updates Course Detail Board at the end of each shift or after completing assignment.
· Perform hand top dressing.
· Plant and maintain shrubs, native plant material and annual flowers.
· Fertilizes applications utilizing walk spreader.
· All equipment and hand tools must be signed out from Equipment Manager and/or Technician prior to use and returned for inspection at the end of shift.
· Equipment and hand tools must be returned fueled and thoroughly cleaned.
· While operating equipment and hand tools much care must be taken to ensure assignments are completed following all job descriptions.
· The appropriate safety gear must be worn while operating equipment.
Qualifications: · Previous experience in golf course maintenance preferred but not required.
· Current Florida Driver’s License.
· Familiarity and previous experience handling various course maintenance chemicals.
· Requires knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment; mechanical aptitude; and ability to follow oral and written direction.
· Display a sense of urgency, strong attention to detail and a desire to get things done right the first time.
· Good verbal skills necessary for effective communication with both members and staff.
· Ability to work flexible work schedule as needed.
· Must be willing to submit to a post offer drug test.
Working Conditions: · Able to push, pull, or lift to 50 lbs.

· Able to work with chemicals, using the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where necessary.
