Job Summary:
The Production Finishing Supervisor ensures that manufacturing processes operate reliably and efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
Oversees daily operations ensuring production rates are being met with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize production processes and efficiency.
Works cross functionally with various departments to manage overall requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a large team of precision machine operators, programmers, and production staff.
Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the production team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain a strong safety culture and a safe work environment.
Work closely with quality assurance team to maintain and improve product quality standards.
Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery of products.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in precision machining operations.
Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to streamline production processes.
Collaborate with maintenance team to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of machinery.
Develop strategies to reduce costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
Provide training and development opportunities for the production team to enhance skills, performance, knowledge and increase manufacturing flexibility.
Cross functional collaboration to ensure that organizational goals of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Costs are meeting expectations.
Participate in the development of capital plans and support the implementation of innovative technology.
Required Skills/Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of precision machining processes, Computer Numerical Control (CNC), and machining technologies.
Proven experience in production management, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Familiarity with quality control standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize production processes.
Strong organization and planning skills
Strong decision-making and critical thinking
Excellent oral and written communication
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, minimum 5 years in a leadership role, and/or bachelor’s degree with 2-year supervisory experience
Comprehensive knowledge of CNC machining concepts and principles
Comprehensive computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
