JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB GOAL:
To provide support in the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer equipment and peripherals.
The position will perform technical assistance in the installation of approved software and serve as a technical resource for all district/school staff and personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, GED (General Equivalency Diploma) or equivalent.
Two (2) years of verifiable technology experience.
Microsoft, Google, Apple, or other equivalent industry standard certification, preferred.
Training, certification, and other education may be considered as a replacement for minimum qualifications.
Valid Florida Driver’s license or will obtain within 30 days of employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of computer usage.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications is a must.
Working technical knowledge of computer hardware, protocols, standards, and computer operating systems.
Working knowledge of intermediate complex software products.
Ability to conduct research into computer and connected peripheral issues and products as required.
Ability to make decisions in accordance with established procedures and to apply them to work related issues.
Ability to explain the technical complexities of computer hardware and software effectively.
Ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high stakes’ environment.

REPORTS TO: Principal Assigned Administrator SUPERVISES: N/A PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Install, configure, test, repair, move, change-out, maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, displays, printers, and communication devices.
Diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software problems in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
Perform a variety of clerical tasks such as typing, copying, scanning, stapling, filing, locating and assembling materials, laminating, etc.
Responsible for level 1 and level 2 software and hardware support.
Identify and escalate problems to level 3 support when necessary.
Manage school site inventory following District operating procedures.
Serve as a primary point of contact for one or more school sites within the school district.
Resolve hardware configuration issues, malfunctioning equipment, and network connection issues.
Complete full installation of District approved hardware and software to include initial setup.
Verify power and connectivity for critical infrastructure devices.
Replace identified hardware and prepare hardware for return delivery to service provider.
Escalate unresolved application, hardware, and infrastructure issues to service desk personnel and provide documentation of troubleshooting steps completed through service desk procedures.
Work in a participative, collaborative manner with district staff and students.
Ensure adherence to good safety standards.
Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
Meet and deal effectively with the staff members, administrators and other contact persons using tact and good judgment.
Exhibit interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member.
Model and maintain high ethical standards.
Represent the district in a positive and professional manner.
Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
Keep assigned Senior Site Support Engineer informed of potential problems or unusual events related to school technology support.
Follow federal and state laws as well as School Board policies, rules, and regulations.
Demonstrate support for the school district and its goals and objectives.
Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment.
Review current developments, literature, and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
As technology systems evolve duties, responsibilities, and activities may change and new ones may be assigned at any time.
Performs related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
