Job Description: Superintendent
Reports To: Project Manager
Classification: Exempt
General Description:
The Superintendent is responsible for management of crews on job sites, customer service in the field, and overall oversight of jobs.
They ensure that the jobs are completed in within scope and executed in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems and requirements of the Company and contract.
Duties:
Crew Management
Hire and Manage Crews
Train crews
Quality Control
Inspect sheathing, or substrate, prior to dispatch crew
Dry in inspection
Load inspection
In progress or final inspection
Vehicles & Equipment
Inspect vehicles weekly for safety issues
Ensure all crews have proper equipment, fuel, safety gear, ladders in good condition, etc.
Schedule Management
Perform regular job runs to determine status of all construction project
Create and maintain 2 week look ahead schedule
Manage material deliveries/audit materials received
Manage inspection process and insure all inspections are called in on jobs and passed.
Safety Management
Conduct weekly tool box safety meetings
Inspect jobsites for safety compliance
Create and maintain incident reports/employee misconduct reports/Disciplinary Action Forms(DAF)/ Employee Injury Reports.
Execute company-wide Disciplinary Action Program(DAP) related to employee safety violations.
Client Customer Service
Touch base in person and by phone with all clients field personnel on a daily or weekly basis
Return all telephone calls and email promptly (within 2-4 hours)
Routinely meet with project supervisors in the field
Payroll
Sign off on dispatches once work has been inspected and is complete
Log all dispatches into excel spreadsheet for payroll
Job costing responsibilities
Keep job materials and labor on or below budget
Typical hours of operation M-F; 6-close; Some Saturday dispatch and weekend on call on rotation with other PM’s
Open shop no later than 6:00 a.
m.
Dispatch crews no later than 7:00 a.
m.
Inspect crew’s activities by 8:00 a.
m.
On call for emergencies on Weekends on a rotation with other PM’s and Supervisors.
On Call weekends, dispatch crews on Saturday from 6-8; and then remain available via phone for emergencies.
On call is 1 time every 3-6 weeks.

Managed departments and subordinate positions: Crew Chiefs, Crews, Warehouse
Complete other duties at the discretion of management.
Requirements:
Present a professional demeanor at all times.
Good communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time.
Knowledge of roof details & installations experience in field management.
Strong management and organizational skills
OSHA, roofing and construction safety knowledge
Must have 2- 3 years of experience as a Superintendent, specifically in commercial and residential roof systems
Roof construction / assembly knowledge and experience should include BUR, TPO, PVC, Modified Bitumen, Tile, and Sheet Metal roof systems
Should be able to read blue prints and have great communication skills.
Aptitude to train crew members and enforcement of safety policies is required
Knowledge of roof details & installations experience in field management
Strong management and organizational skills
OSHA, roofing and construction safety knowledge
Bilingual, both English and Spanish English is a plus
Knowledge of roof repairs and maintenance programs
Have a VALID Florida License and good driving record.
Able to prioritize tasks and available nights/weekends to take calls and/or respond to warranty requests.
Have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate clearly with various departments
Project management experience and time-management skills.
Good computer skills (Word and Excel) for generating reports, extracting data, and sharing this information with other team members in project updates.
