Responsibilities: - Install glass in windows, skylights, storefronts, and other structures - Measure and cut glass to fit specific dimensions - Remove old or broken glass and prepare the area for installation - Secure glass in place with putty, screws, or other fasteners - Seal edges of glass with caulk to prevent leaks or drafts - Install metal frames or channels around glass to provide additional support - Repair or replace damaged glass or frames as needed - Work with other construction professionals to ensure proper installation and alignment of glass components Qualifications: - Previous experience as a glazier or in a related field such as metal stud framing, maintenance person, carpentry, or remodeling - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings - Proficiency in using hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and installing glass - Knowledge of different types of glass and their applications - Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision - Physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team - Familiarity with caulking techniques for sealing glass installations - Experience with fixture installation, construction painting, or other related skills is a plus Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
