Firmo Construction, headquartered in Sarasota, FL, is seeking an enthusiastic individual with construction accounting experience to join our tight-knight, collaborative company! Established in 2003, Firmo Construction is a fully integrated design-build firm, licensed as a Class A Certified General Contractor with projects throughout the southeast US.

Working in unison with our Accounting Department, Estimators, Project Managers, and Owner, the Project Accountant will support the day-to-day project accounting activities on multiple jobs.
You will be responsible for managing construction costs, preparing pay applications, paying vendors/subcontractors, and overseeing the financials of construction projects from start to finish.
This salaried position reports full-time in office.
Occasional travel to active project job-sites may be required.
Candidates MUST possess working QuickBooks knowledge AND Construction related experience.

• Have demonstrated experience in Construction Project Accounting.
• Have the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively and professionally.
• Be extremely organized, with excellent time management skills in order to meet critical deadlines.
• Possess critical thinking skills and have the ability to anticipate issues, analyze situations, and problem solve.
•Be highly proficient with QuickBooks, Construction software (ie.
Corecon, Procore), Microsoft (specifically Outlook, Excel, and Teams).
Key Responsibilities.

•Maintain open lines of communication with all project team members, vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Work with the team to manage, verify and administer Subcontracts, Purchase orders, Change orders, Subcontractor’s compliance and requisition, Coding vendor invoices, Coding purchases, Lien waivers, and Project closeout.
•Preparation of monthly billings to project owners
•Bookkeeping tasks including receiving payments, making deposits, reconciling accounts, and organizing files and statements.

Experience
Bookkeeping: 5 years (Required)
Commercial construction: 3 years (Required)
Degree in Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training or experience.
